Lea Salonga is known as one of the best singer in the country. Aside from that, she is also a mother to her children.
Given that, she noticed something in a learning module of her child. This concern of Lea has gone viral last November 17.
Lea took to her social media and posted a photo of a one page from DepEd learning module.
In the said page, there was a question that the singer got seriously concerned of. The question was fill in the blanks where the meaning of a tattoo is the missing part.
The choices were: “A. pagiging kriminal, B. pagkaalipin, C. kagitingan at kagandahan, at D. pagiging mababa ng katayuan sa lipunan.”
To her surprise, the correct answer in the answer key was letter A. Because of this, Lea reacted on her social media.
“Okay, someone would need to tell me if this thing is really ok’d by the DepEd.
“And if so, WHAT KIND OF BS IS THIS???”
Following this, DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction Diosdado San Antonio had an interview with Manila Bulletin last November 19.
San Antonio cleared that it is true that the answer was A but is wrong so they immediately call an erratum to correct this.
On the other hand, Lea took to her social media again and apologized for cr!ticizing the module on her last post.
According to Lea, someone directly messaged her about the learning module she posted.
“Okay, so there’s more on this DepEd tattoo story,” Lea first wrote.
For Lea, there is someone sabotaging someone else.
“So, in my amateur opinion, someone out there wants to make someone else look incompetent. Covering up a big part of the page and making it look like the answer key was marking the wrong letter as correct. For my part in this, allow me to apologize. I just want for our kids to get as good an education as they can get,” she said.
