Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes quashes rumors regarding the hoax of his d3ath by posting a video saying his fine

Filipino pool legend Efren “Bata” Reyes is alive and well.

Efren “Bata” Reyes, who is considered the greatest pool player of all time, said he is very much alive.

After news of his d3ath spread on social media.

Okay lang ako! (I’m fine),” Reyes said with a smile in a video posted by his daughter Chelo on Facebook as he watched the NBA game.

“Sa mga nagsshare at nakakabasa ng mga lumalabas na balitang patay na si tatay, huwag po kayo maniwala, FAKE NEWS lang po yan..,” Chelo Reyes said in a post on Facebook.

“DIYOS NA BAHALA SA INYONG NAGPAPAKALAT NG GANYANG BALITA. #DiNakakatuwa kakatapos nga lang niya mag-almusal e..,” she wrote, attaching a video of Reyes waving to the camera.

And a screenshot of a post going around social media regarding his reported d3ath.

In the second clip shared, Reyes is playing billiard with his friends.

The video post on Saturday while Reyes was with family in Angeles City, Pampanga on Saturday morning.

In a message with Manila Bulletin, Chelo shared that she together with her mother and two siblings is a bit surprised about the news.

But their father took it humorously as “Bata” is known to deliver witty punch lines.

“Mas nauna pa daw nakaalam ang Facebook kesa sa kanya at sa amin tungkol sa balita na yun,” Chelo said.

While Efren took in a funny way, Chelo said family members had a different view on such news – particularly if it’s “fake” since it isn’t a good one to hear or read.

Reyes, a world champion in both eight-ball and nine-ball, saw action at home soil in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Taking home a bronze medal in the one-cushion carom.

So it’s all clear! Our Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes is still alive and kicking!
